Mayors Acceptance Speech
I have been privileged as Deputy Mayor to work alongside and learn from our retiring Mayor Cllr Mrs. Sheila Davenport whom I thank kindly.
Over the past few years, we have all experienced extremely difficult times, first with Covid and now with the cost-of-living crisis and of course the Ukrainian war.
It is with the above in mind I will work hard with the support of my fellow Councillors and the Executive Officer of Sandhurst Town Council to help and support all who live in our wonderful town of Sandhurst.
The role of the Mayor is not an individual role.
The Mayor, I believe is a representative of Sandhurst Town Council which has a great team of Councillors with many years of experience and also the Executive Officer Angela Carey who I believe to be the best Executive Officer I’ve had the pleasure of working with. And of course, not forgetting Angela’s team of staff.
The charity I would like to support during my year as Mayor of Sandhurst is Frimley Park Hospital, specifically the Children’s Ward.
I look forward, along with my wife to meeting as many residents as possible particularly at my charitable events.
