GO BACK TO THE MAYORS LIST
MAYOR OF SANDHURST 2014/2015
Pauline McKenzie
The Mayors Charity - T.B.A

Mayoral Acceptance Speech

It is a great honour to be your chairman and the Mayor of Sandhurst. I will endeavour to perform my duties to the best of my ability. Thank you for having faith in me and helping in my development as a councillor. Some of you have particularly influenced me and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you individually. Carole for encouraging me to stand as a councillor in the first place and for being my mentor for the past 3 years. Bob for teaching me all there is to know about Planning and for entrusting me with the Chairmanship of that committee. To the Planning committee members Graham, Phillip. Peter, Michael and Adrian for their support and dedication. To Dale for inviting Roy, Michael and myself into his home to share with us his experience as Mayor and to set out the roles and responsibilities. To Stephen and all his team for their support and guidance. To Roy my rock and strength and now my consort. Finally to Michael whose Civic Service theme was to put your heart into what you do. Michael has wholeheartedly committed his time and effort into serving this community. He is the nicest, kindest person I have met in a long time, and only sees the good in people. He so deserves to have his name inscribed on the Roll of Mayors’ plaque on the wall. Michael - thank you.

Requesting people to come forward with nominations for my charities.

“May I introduce myself as your newly elected Mayor of Sandhurst. This is a great honour and I will endeavour to perform my duties to the best of my ability.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to come forward with any ideas as to which local charities you would like me to support and raise funds. (In this respect incidentally the charity must be registered).

Please contact the Council Offices either by email to stc@sandhurst.gov.uk or by telephone on 01252 879060 with your suggestions.

I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully meeting you in due course.

Councillor Pauline McKenzie Mayor of Sandhurst.”
